Kaizen now accurately predicts 92% of race performances

Upgraded algorithm provides accurate prediction for all the major race distances, from 5k to marathon

With a key update to our algorithm, Kaizen now accurately predicts 92% of race performances across 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon distances.

In addition, training elevation and cross training are also factored into both your race prediction and your doughnut calculation. This means Kaizen better reflects your true training each week.

What that means for Kaizen athletes:

  • Predictions for 5k, 10k, half and full marathons can be viewed alongside one another

  • Your weekly target doughnut now responds to cross training and the total elevation of your runs each week

  • Your average elevation and cross training stats are included in the summary data on the progress screen

  • Your half and full marathon predictions may have changed slightly — this is an improvement in accuracy

  • You can use the tailor prediction function to further improve accuracy by specifying which are the race results that represent a great performance by you on the day in good conditions

In the near future, you can expect Kaizen to create training plans for more distances, allow custom race distance predictions and more.

We’re excited to get this update into your hands and help even more users build their fitness to achieve even better race results.
