Our Story
Meet Josh
Josh Sambrook is a 2:28 marathon runner and sports scientist who believes anyone can become a better runner if they improve their training. After creating a version of Kaizen for his own use, Josh is now sharing his work with the world.
Kaizen was built with the aim of helping everyone become a better runner. A training companion that:
allows people to quantify their training;
drives consistent improvement; and
accurately predicts fitness
is critical to becoming a better runner.
Kaizen helps everyone improve; whether they are new to endurance training or seasoned athletes.
Why Kaizen?
Endurance training is all about the sum of the body of work. A common pitfall of aspiring runners is to place too much emphasis on individual workouts.
Kaizen is the Japanese business principle of continuous improvement based on an idea that discrete, ongoing, granular changes can lead to significant benefits. The parallels extend scientifically to endurance running, and Kaizen distills this concept into an app that factors in every run to your predicted fitness, with an unwavering focus on the present (fitness) and future (training).
Kaizen abstracts away the noise that distracts runners from the thing that matters most; consistency. It tells you how much to run each week to achieve your running goals, whether a specific race time or to simply improve.
