The Detroit Free Press Marathon is a unique race that takes runners on an international journey, starting and finishing in downtown Detroit, Michigan. Participants experience the thrill of crossing the U.S.-Canada border twice, first over the Ambassador Bridge with breathtaking views of the Detroit River at sunrise, and then back through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, the only underwater mile in a marathon.
